WELCOME
My goal is to connect with organizations and individuals and use my extensive knowledge of volunteer resource management to attain successful outcomes. I can assist through customized training sessions, consulting services, and other related volunteer management initiatives.
My personal experience as a volunteer led to my career change over 15 years ago. Ironically, it wasn’t until my late 30’s that I began volunteering and discovered the rewards as well as the challenges of volunteerism. Good intentions are more effective and rewarding when guidance, leadership and planning are components of the volunteer experience (volunteer history). Currently, I am a consultant at Kingsbrook Jewish Medical Center serving as the Program/Grant Coordinator (career history).
As a practitioner, I learned from the many workshops and conferences I attended. Over the last several years I’ve added workshop facilitation, consulting services and teaching to my resume (conferences/teaching). Topics I've presented (program topics) can be customized to meet any organization's specific needs.
I’ve benefited from my professional associations as well as the formal and informal mentors who have supported me. After my career change, my volunteer experience expanded to include involvement with professional associations (affiliations).
During the last five years I’ve been involved with health literacy programs. To learn more about my interactions with health literacy volunteers (and their role of empowering individuals to make more informed decision),
